Ruth Cave Sturgeon, 52, of Marston and formerly of East Prarie died Tuesday, March 3, 1992, at the Pemiscot Memorial Hospital in Hayti after an apparent Heart attack.
She was born Feb 1, 1940, at East Prarie, the daughter of Irene Stockman Cave of East Prarie and the late James Cave.
She moved from East Prarie to Marston 7 years ago. She was a member of the Church of God in Portageville and the Charleston chapter of the Eastern Star. She was a secretary for the M.F.A. Grainery in Caruthersville.
Survivors include a son, Todd Sturgeon of Oakboro, NC; two daughters Leilia Johnson and Adrienna Sturgeon, both of rural Charleston; a brother Jimmy Cave of East Prarie; a sister, Mary Ketchum of Charleston; and a granddaughter.
She was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister. Friends may call after 5 PM today at Shelby Funeral Home in East Prarie. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Thursday at the Shelby Chapel, with the Rev. Gaylon BanAsdale officiating. Burial will be in the Dogwood Cemetery near East Prarie.
