Doris (Gover) Guerard, 87, was the daughter of the late Leonard C. Grover and Bertha (Tobitha Head) Snyder.

She lived in the Bay Area for many years. She then lived in Arnold for four years and settled in Murphys 17 years ago.

Doris owned and operated various restaurants for 50 years, her largest were Patty's Restaurant in San Francisco and Howie's in Hayward.

She was a former member of the Women of Moose in Arnold, a member of the Independence Hall Quilters and the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Murphys.

Mrs. Guerard is survived by her son, Stanley Cox of Manteca; her daughter, Sarah "Joey" J. Brown of Murphys; brothers, L.C. Gover of Laytonville, Mendocino County, and Lacy Gover of Dallas; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Leonard C. Grover and Bertha (Tobitha Head) Snyder, son, Leonard Adolph Cox in 1960.
