Claude E. Brinker, died Tuesday December 3, at his home, corner of Tenth and Pine Street in Eureka.

Mr. Brinker was fifty-one years of age.

He is survived by his wife, his mother, Mrs. P. M. Brinker, of Eureka; a twin brother, Clyde Brinker of Goodland, and three sisters, all of Eureka.

Funeral service, conducted by Rev. Robert Schaechtele, will be held at 3:00 o'clock Friday afternoon from the Baird Funeral Home. Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery.

Claude Ernest Brinker, son of Peter Monroe and Clara Alice Brinker, was born in Eureka, Kansas, August 21, 1889, and departed this life in Eureka, December 3, 1940, aged 51 years, 3 months and 18 days. With the exception of four or five years when he worked in Goodland, Kansas, most of his life was lived in and around Eureka.

At the age of 24 he united with the United Brethren Church, later transferring his membership to the Methodist Church at Goodland, to which belief he has been faithful.

On July 1, 1913, he was united in marriage to Veda Belle Johnson.

Claude was known to almost everyone as "Happy," a name characteristic to his sunny, pleasing disposition. He always had a cheerful word for everyone. Mr. Brinker was a kind, devoted husband, son and brother. His presence will be greatly missed.

He leaves to mourn his departure, his wife, Veda Belle Brinker, of Eureka; his aged mother, Mrs. Peter Monroe Brinker, Eureka; three sisters, Mrs. Etolla White, of Denver, Colorado, Mrs. Ralph Parks and Mrs. Fern Darnell of Eureka; one twin brother, Cylde Brinker of Goodland, Kansas; eleven nieces and nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.

His father preceded him in death April 20, 1925.

Funeral service, conducted by Rev. Robt. Schaethiele, was held Friday afternoon, December 6th, from the Baird Funeral Home. Interment was in the Greenwood Cemetery.
