Frederick G. Knauss, Jr., 79, of Emmaus, died April 15, 2007 at Blough Health Care Center, Bethlehem. Born in Allentown, he was the son of the late Frederick G. Sr. and Eleanor (Kohl) Knauss. He was the husband of Shirley M. Knauss for 55 years. He was a member of St. Lukes Lutheran Church, Allentown. He was a civil engineer for PP&L until retiring in 1993. He served in the Navy during World War II. He was a member of Masonic Lodge 792, Emmaus, the Exchange Club, Fountain Hill and the Emmaus Aquatic Club. He volunteered at the Good Shepherd Home, Cedarbrook and for Meals on Wheels.
Survivors: Wife; daughters, Deborah, wife of Robert Pollinger and Marsha, wife of William D. OBrian Jr.; grandchildren, Chad, Tricia, Justin, Timothy, Christopher and Corie; great-grandchildren, Joseph and Jacob; brothers, Daniel and William Knauss; sister, Delores Beck.
Services: memorial, 11 a.m. Friday, April 20, 2007 in Weber Funeral Home, 1619 Hamilton St., Allentown. Call 10 a.m. Friday until time of services in the funeral home.
Contributions: In lieu of flowers, to St. Lukes Lutheran Church, 417 N. Seventh St., Allentown, PA 18102 or a charity of ones choice.
