One year after his son Carl came to America, Adolf Oscar Sundstrom embarked on his own journey with his wife Emilia and their 5 young children. They departed, 08 June 1892 from Goteburg, Sweden, their destination, Worcester, Massachusetts.
He worked as a blacksmith at Ironworks in Hasselfors Bruk, Orebrö, Sweden. Coming to America he found work as a forger of metal at a shop in Worcester, Massachusetts. There were many hardship for his family with the loss of their 2 young boys and had much joy raising their grandson,Edward Axel Sundstrom. The American dream came true when they built their home at 665 Burncoat in Worcester and lived there till their deaths.
