Conduct Bappert Services Today: Peru, May 13-Funeral of the late Michael Bappert, civil war veteran, who died Monday morning at his home at 185 E. Fifth street, will be held from the residence Thursday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock. Rev. Benjamin Kendall, pastor of the Methodist church of which tho deceased was a member and the Rev, Harry Nyce will have charge of the services. Burial will be in the Denver cemetery.

Bappert Children to Share Estate: Peru, May 16 -The joint will of Michael Bappert and his wife Dora E. Bappert, was filed for probate in circuit court today. Mr. Bappert died Tuesday morning and his wife died ten years ago. According to the will, at the death of the last survivor of the two, the estate should be divided equally between the three children, George E. Bappert, Ella Howes and Lillian E. Bappert, The two daughters were named executrixes without bond.

Michael Bappert, 86, prominent citizen and veteran of the Civil War, died at his home, 185 East Fifth Street, Peru, after a years ill health.
The deceased was born in Germany, coming to Cincinnati when eight years old. He served with a Kentucky infantry regiment and was imprisoned at the famous Confederate Libby Prison, being exchanged after five months of hardship. He was with Sherman on the campaign around Atlanta where he received a wound which necessitated the amputation of his right leg.
Mr. Bappert came to Miami County in 1870 and later served as both county recorder and then auditor. He was a member of the M. E. Church, and the I.O.O.F. and K. of P. Lodges.
Surviving children are: Miss Lillian Bappert, local high school teacher; Mrs. Charles Howes, Atchison, Kas.; and George Bappert, Rosedale, Miss. The funeral will be held Thursday at the residence, complete arrangements not yet being made.
