WILLIAM A. HOY, 86, of Wildwood, died Tuesday at Burdette Tomlin Memorial Hospital in Cape May Court House.

Mr. Hoy was a self-employed cab driver in Wildwood.

He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.

Mr. Hoy was assigned to special detail to guard President Franklin Roosevelt while the president was at Ft. Jackson, S.C.

He was a member of the Wildwood American Legion Post.

He was born in Philadelphia and lived in Wildwood for 50 years.

He is survived by a sister, Marie Kean of Washington, D.C.

Services will be held 10 a.m. Monday at the Evoy Funeral Home, 3218 Bayshore Road, North Cape May, where friends may call from 9 a.m. Burial will be in the Cape May County Veterans Cemetery, Cape May Court House.
