Orville was born in Brunersburg, Ohio, to the late Sidney Orville and Florence Mary Decker.
He and Marjorie "Doris" Reyff began their 70 plus year marriage on April 11, 1936, in Defiance, Ohio. Marjorie preceded him in death on March 17, 2008.
He was also preceded in death by a sister, Gertrude and two brothers, Eugene and Bernard.
Orville is survived by: a son, Ronald (Shirley) Decker of Middletown, Ohio; two daughters, Susan Kurfess and Nancy Jane (J.W.) Frey, both of Bowling Green, Ohio; 6 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren and 2 nephews.
Orville graduated from Bowling Green State University, where he lettered in track and field.
Mr. Decker was a teacher for the Rossford City Schools retiring in 1972.
He was a member the First United Methodist Church and a past member and Sunday school teacher of Faith United Methodist Church, Luckey, Ohio.
Orville also was a member of the Masonic Lodge, Pemberville for over fifty years, and a lifelong member of the Falcon Club.
He was an avid sports enthusiast.
The family would like to give a special, Thank You to Hospice of Northwest Ohio, especially Katie, Cynthia and Dee. They would also like to thank Rose, Mary, Carrie, Tiffany and Janice for their compassionate care.
Visitation will be on Monday, December 28, 2009, from 2:00 PM until the Time of Service at 3:00 PM. Deck-Hanneman Funeral Home & Crematory, 1460 W. Wooster St., PO Box 648, Bowling Green, Ohio 43402; Tele: 419/352-2171, Pastor Tom Moyer officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery.
