He married Jean Alderson Mitchell on June 17, 1951 in Indianapolis. He was employed for 30 years by RCA (Thomson) in Indianapolis as a Millwright, having retired in 1994. He had previously worked for the Hygrade Meat Co. for 18 years. He was a member of Mt. Auburn United Methodist Church in Greenwood, Pioneers of America and I.B.E.W. Union. Services: 10 a.m. Thursday, August 21 at Forest Lawn Wilson St. Pierre Funeral Home, State Road 135 Chapel in White River Township with Dr. Joe Bottorff officiating. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, August 20 at the funeral home. Burial will be at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens. Survivors: wife, Jean (Alderson) Mitchell; 3 sons, Bruce and Alan Mitchell both of Greenwood and Eric Mitchell, Ft. Meyers, FL; 2 sisters, Lemern Coyle and Jean Scott both of Greenwood; 4 grandchildren; and 1 great grandchild. He was preceded in death by a brother; and 3 sisters. Memorial contributions may be made to Shrine Hospital for Children.
