Mary E. Amon, Raymilton Road, Polk RD 1, died Sunday (6-3-01) in Cleveland Clinic. She was 61.
Mrs. Amon was born Jan. 24, 1940, in Mercer to John T. and Ezlee Carter McGhee.
She graduated from Mercer High School and was a lifetime dairy farmer and homemaker.
Mary was a member of Polk Quilting Bee; Venango County Homemakers club; and attended Sandy Lake Wesleyan Church.
She married John Amon on Jan. 16, 1960.
She is survived by her husband; a daughter, Diana L. Amon, Reno, Venango County; four sons and their spouses, Samuel R. Amon; and and Richard and Clarissa Amon, all Polk; John and Marge Amon, Franklin; and Jeffery and Teresa Amon, Jackson Center; three sisters, Hazel Guiler and Sandy Addison, both Mercer; and Shirley Fisher, Chardon, Ohio; four brothers, J. Eugene and Robert McGhee, both Mercer; Harold McGhee, Volant; and David McGhee, Whitehouse Station, N.J.; and six grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and an infant sister.

Service: Funeral service at 11 a.m. Thursday (6-7-01) in the funeral home, with the Rev. Charles Williamson, pastor of Sandy Lake Wesleyan Church, officiating.
Committal and Interment: Oak Hill Cemetery, Sandy Lake Township.
