Nathaniel Boyington son of Samuel Boyington and Fanny Ives of Wolcott, Conn. and Southwick, Hampden Co., Mass.
As a boy Nathaniel Boyington was apprenticed to a famer in Southwick, Massachusets. He came west in 1845 and located at Ives Grove in Racine County, WI. He married Annis Conant 3 Feb 1847 Ives Grove, Racine Co., WI. She the daughter of Gordon Conant and wife 2/w Polly Von Valenburg. They ran a hotel for a few months in Berlin, WI., in early 1848. Moved to Wautoma, Waushara Co., WI., and built hotel and ran it for 14 years. Nathaniel also running a flour mill at Wautoma and served for two terms as sheriff of Waushara County.
In 1865 moved to Sharon Twp. 24, Portage Co., WI where he built saw mill known as Hall & Boyington and later known as Boyington Mill. In 1881 the family moved to Stevens Point, Portage Co., WI and built an elegant house at the east end of Main St. (1037 Main), He and sons and son-in-law Vernon P. Atwell (married to dt. Annis Mae Boyington) owned lumber business interests in Coolidge, Price Co., WI., and Sherrill, Arkansas.
Nathaniel Boyington died 4 May 1890 Stevens Point and buried in Forest Cemetery.
Annis Conant Boyington died in family home on December 14, 1906 in Stevens Point. She is buried in Forest Cemetery.
