"Ernest R. Bitz, 89, of Minoa, former owner and president of Central City Provisions, died October 18.

Born in Bridgeport, he resided in Minoa for the past 65 years. He retired in 1978.

Mr. Bitz was a member of the Bridgeport United Methodist Church, the Masonic Lodge of Minoa and Tigris Temple, Minoa.

He is survived by a daughter, Erma Mattis of Minoa, a sister, Miss Myrtle Bitz of Bridgeport, three grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, a niece and a cousin.

Burial was in Bridgeport Cemetery.

Contributions can be made to the Ernest and Ethel Educational Memorial Fund, Bridgeport Methodist Church, or the Minoa Ambulance Fund.

Arrangements were handled by Russell H. Schepp Funeral Home, Minoa."
