Age 74, of Lake Columbia passed away at home January 2, 2012 under the loving care of her family and Great Lakes Hospice. Carolyn was born September 9, 1937 in Jackson to Claude and Mary (Shoemaker) Murray. She married Richard Deneka in Kentucky and he preceded her in death. Carolyn was employed at the Chrysler Proving Grounds in Chelsea until her retirement in 1999. Carolyn is survived by her children: Rick Deneka, Tina Wyman, Romona Deneka, Lisa (Thomas) Wright; 11 Grandchildren; 17 Great Grandchildren; 3 Great Great Grandchildren; Siblings: Nita Sharp and Gerald Murray. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her daughter: Linda Deneka King. A Healing Farewell gathering will be on Thursday, January 5, 2012 from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. at the Borek Jennings Funeral Home, Braun Chapel. The Farewell Service will be on Friday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with Pastors Jason Engle and Mearl Bradley officiating. Interment Highland Cemetery. In Carolyn's honor, memorial donations may be shared with Great Lakes Hospice or the Leukemia Foundation. Envelopes will be available at the funeral. home.
