WELL-KNOWN CITIZEN EXPIRES SUDDENLY SUNDAY

Uncle Sam Cravins, 88 years of age, expired suddenly at his home at Gardner Sunday morning. Mr. Cravins arose Sunday morning hale and hearty. He went over to the store, chatted with friends and returned home, expiring shortly there after. Mr. Cravins had been a citizen of that community for about 75 years, moving there when that section was a wilderness. He reared a family of children, all of whom are upright, honorable men and women, four of them surviving him, as follows: Mrs. Robt. Bell of Doyle; Mrs. D. Barton, of Obion county; W. R. Cravins and Miss Mollie. The latter was her aged father's constant companion; the two were inseparable and his death, while a shock to the other children, is an especially severe blow to Miss Mollie. Burial services were conducted Sunday by Revs. A. E. Scott and Banks, followed by interment at the
Gardner cemetery.

Dresden enterprise and Sharon tribune., February 11, 1921, Page 6. submitted by Michael J. Rea, #47214779.

Husband of Rebecca King Cravens

Son of John Cravens and Priscilla Foley Cravens

Brother of George Washington Cravens and Joseph C Cravens
