Westminister Faculty Member Dies Suddenly:
Donald Hugh Fleming, 51, of 300 West 7th Street, died Saturday night at his home. Mr. Fleming was Associate Professer of Music at Westminster College.
He was born March 22, 1918 to Leslie Olan and Lula Irene (Snook) Fleming.
Mr. Fleming attended Fulton schools and one year at Westminster College. He then attended the Louisville School of Music in Louisville, Kentucky, where he was chosen for "Whos Who" Among Students in American Colleges and Universities. He attended the Julliard School of Music for two years on a Fellowship. For thirteen years he was a member of the Fred Waring Glee Club. He then returned to Fulton and was Associate Professer of Music at Westminster College for eight years, receiving his Masters degree from the University Of Missouri in August 1969.
Surviving are his mother, Mrs. Irene Fleming, one brother, Sam S. Fleming and a nephew, Thomas Reid Fleming of Plainview, Texas.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00pm Tuesday at the First Presbyerian Church with the Reverend Cecil Culverhouse performing the services. Funeral arrangements are by the Browning Funeral Home in Fulton. Interment will be at Callaway Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers will be Earl Brown Maerz, Orville Baysinger, John Mulvaney, Edson Meyers, Brook Sloss and John Harris.
A memorial has been established by the family of Mr. Fleming in his name for the choir of the First Presbyterian Church.
