Dorothy Jean Horner passed away on December 30, 2009 after a lengthy battle with cancer. Dorothy was 73 years old at the time of her death. She died at her home surrounded by the members of her immediate family. Dorothy was born Dorothy Jean Cannon on November 2, 1936 in Downey, CA.
She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Lee Horner. She is also survived by four children - Cyndi Trenery and her husband Ron (Middletown, CA), Scott Horner (Mission Viejo, CA), Amy Willis and her husband Jeff (Sutherlin, OR), David Horner and his wife Tammy (Keller, TX) and nine grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents, George and Pina Cannon, sister Dona Ryan and brother Robert Cannon.
Dorothy attended San Jose State University where she met her husband. She was very active in Bible Study Fellowship (BSF) where she was a teaching leader for almost 20 years in Livermore, CA. Dorothy enjoyed gardening, traveling, reading, camping and spending time with her grandkids. She was an active member of Shasta Community Church. One of Dorothy's educational highlights was attending the Sorbonne Institute in Paris to study French. Dorothy loved her life and her Heavenly Father in whom she is now seated next to.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 16th at 1 p.m. at the Allen & Dahl Funeral Home in Palo Cedro, CA. In lieu of flowers, Dorothy would like contributions to be made to Focus on the Family or Shasta Bible College.
