Sask. Man Killed In Nairobi
UNITED NATIONS (CP) – A Saskatchewan native serving as a population program officer with the UN development program has been killed in an automobile accident in Nairobi, Kenya. A UN spokesman said Wednesday Daniel Bert Climenhagen [sic] died in an accident the night of Aug. 29-30. Climenhagen was based at the Kenyan capital. Previous assignments included population census advisor for Afghanistan and Jordan. Mr. Climenhagen attended the University of Saskatchewan and the London School of Economics before taking charge of field work for the first population census in the Sudan in 1955-56. He later returned to the University of Saskatchewan as a lecturer from 1959-61. His hometown was Belisle [sic], Sask.
