Katharine Von Heinbeck Laidley, 90, of 200 Baily avenue, Carmichaels, widow of the late Lowell Terry Laidley, prominent businessman, civic leader and banker, died at 1 am Sunday, September 8, l963 at her home after a lingering illness. She was born September 20, 1871 at Burlington, Iowa, a daughter of George and Emma Strumer Von Heinbeck. A resident of Carmichaels for 60 years, she was a member of the Carmichaels Presbyterian Church and the Carmichaels Women's Civic Club. When in good health, she was active in the church choirs and taught music for many years. Her husband, L T Laidley died on March 16 of this year. She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Katherine Williams of Glenshaw and Mrs. Antionette Lawrence of Kansas City, Mo, and one son, Alvin David Laidley, an administrative official for UNESCO in Paris, France. Also surviving are five grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and two sisters, Mrs Antionette Harris of Pasadena, Calif and Mrs. Hazel Leksa of LaPorte, Ind.
