Edith T. Creecy ``Polly'' Gay, 73, of the 2200 block of Tennessee Drive, died July 2, 1994, in a Portsmouth hospital. Mrs. Gay was a native of Paradise Creek, Va., and was the widow of Joseph Benjamin Gay Sr. She was a Baptist.
Survivors include two daughters, JoAnn Gay Dixon of Fallbrook, Calif. and Selinda Neal Gay Butler of Charlotte, N.C.; two sons, Joseph Benjamin Gay Jr. of Windsor, Va. and David Newton Gay of Chesapeake; two sisters, Clara Matthews of Suffolk and Ruth Morris of Ocala, Fla.; one brother, William Nathan Wilkerson of Chesapeake; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren, Nathaniel Harland Butler and David Roger Carter III.
A funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel. Burial will be in Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7 to 9 p.m. today.
