Francis Berger, 73, of Lehighton R. 3, died at 4:40 p.m. yesterday at the Palmerton hospital where he had been admitted the previous day.
A native of Carbon county, Berger had been employed by the New Jersey Zinc Co. for 36 years until his retirement in 1946.
He was the son of the late Emanuel and Mary Strohl Berger
Surviving are his wife, the former Mary E. Morey; two daughters, Letha, wife of Fred Messinger, California, and Pearl, wife of Frederick Wales, Philadelphia; two sons, Glenn C., Parryville, and Dale F., stationed at Guam with the Army Air Forces; eight grandchildren, one great grandchild, one sister, Mrs. Nora Green, Lehighton R. 3; four brothers, Charles, Aquashicola; Edward, Walnutport; Joseph, Andreas, and Daniel, Kresgeville.
