Henrietta Louise Hansen 1923 ~ 2007 St. George, UT

Our beloved sister, aunt, and friend, Henrietta "Retta" passed away April 28, 2007, after a brief illness. She lived at Red Cliffs Regional in St. George, Utah, after spending 30 years in Bullhead City and Kingman, AZ. Henrietta was born Jan. 9, 1923 to Elsie and Henry Emanuel Hansen, Jr. in Magna, UT. She moved to Salt Lake City as a teen, where she met her husband, Glenn A. Hansen. They lived in California, Massachusetts, Virginia, Kansas, Alaska, and Idaho, while Glenn served in the Air Force. Henrietta made special friends wherever she lived. After Glenn died, she helped care for her mother before moving to Arizona. Henrietta was a wonderful wife and homemaker, and she often worked in retail sales. She was an accomplished artist and craftswoman, who enjoyed gardening and cooking. She had a special fondness for children, cats and dogs. Henrietta will be remembered for her inward and outward beauty. She was a sweet and gentle spirit, loved by all who knew her. The family extends special appreciation to the staff caring for her at Red Cliffs Regional Center. Henrietta is survived by her sister, Areta Andersen, her niece, Joyce Gaufin, both of Dammeron Valley, Utah, her nephew, Steve Sorensen of St. George, and other nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her sisters Bessie Hansen and May Sorensen, and nephew Dennis (Karen) Andersen. Family and close friends are invited to a memorial open house Sat., May 12, 2007, from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at the home of her grand-nephew, Mark (Faye) Andersen, 7180 W. Parkway Blvd. (2700 South), West Valley City. Arrangements have been handled by Metcalf Mortuary, 288 W. St. George Blvd., St. George, UT 84770. A private interment will be held at a later date in Valley View Memorial Park, West Valley City, Utah.
