Services for Robert A. Bills, 88, of Temple will be 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Scanio-Harper Funeral Home in Temple with Warren King officiating.

Private family burial will be in Buckhorn Cemetery near Moody with full military honors.

Mr. Bills died Saturday, Oct. 23, in a local hospital.

He was born on Oct. 30, 1921, to James Roscoe and Lonie Boyd Bills in Kerens. He graduated from Sudan High School in Sudan. He retired after serving in the U.S. Army from 1938-1961. He then worked at the Temple Post Office, retiring in 1986. On March 28, 2007, he married Lois Etter Votaw in Oklahoma. He grew and donated vegetables to Martha's Kitchen in Temple. He was a lifetime member of Leon Valley Church of Christ in Belton.

Survivors include his wife of Temple; two sons, Roger Bills and Lynn "Pokey" Bills, both of Temple; two daughters, Donna Duff of Missouri and Linda Rojo of Temple; two stepsons, Melvin McDaniel Jr. of Florida and Marvin McDaniel of San Antonio; three stepdaughters, Karen Webb of Mississippi, Glenda Webb of Temple and Judy Knox of Belton; a brother, J.W. Bills of California; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 1700 Lake Success Dr., Waco, 76710.

There is no set time for visitation.
