Worked as a blacksmith and wheelwright and on the railroad.
Theodore worked as a brakeman on the Chicago and Northwestern Railroad Company. On the 15th November 1879, he fell from a ladder on the train at Depere and was run over and killed.
The Oshkosh Daily Northwestern of the 17th. November 1879, gave a graphic account of his shocking injuries.
He left a young wife and two year old child.
The body was taken to Janesville for burial after the inquest.
Theodore was a Civil War veteran, serving in Co. A 117th. New York Infantry from 1862-1865.
He was wounded in the ankle at Drewry's Bluff Va. 16 May 1864.
Although the marker says 11th. NY Inf, this is an error. Theodore served in the 117th. New York Infantry.
