Two services are being planned for Leo George Calavan, 65, who passed away on June 23 at a local hospital. A native of Oregon, Mr. Calavan had made his home for the past five years at the Malty Pipeline Station on the Standard Oil property near Avon. He was employed by Standard Oil for the past 41 years as an engineer. He was a veteran of the Army in World War I, and was a member of VFW, Pittsburg Post 1898.
Mrs. Calavan is survived by his wife Doris of Avon, a brother Percy of Portland, and a sister Mrs. Hazel Newbill, also of Portland.
The first service will be held Thursday at 9 p.m. at the MacFarlane-Bryant Chapel with the officers of VFW Post 1898 officiating. The regular funeral service will be held at 9:30 Friday morning at the MacFarlane-Bryant Chapel. Burial will follow at the Golden Gate National Cemetery in San Bruno.
