Father of Louis Frank DePasquale, Katherine DePasquale Durrant, and Dorothy DePasquale Companaro.

Berardino enlisted in the U.S. Army on April 25, 1918, in Salt Lake City. He served in the 22nd Company, 6th Batallion, 166th Dep. Brigade to May 24, 1918. He then served in Company I, 365th Infantry. He served in France from July 7, 1918 to December 24, 1918. He was severely wounded in the Battle of Meuse-Argonne on September 28, 1918. He was discharged on February 7, 1919. The Battle of Meuse-Argonne was the largest frontline commitment of troops by the U.S. Army in World War I, and also it's deadliest.

Bill played in an accordion band, performing at Saltair in the 1920s with the "Italian Accordion Troubadors", including Vito Carone, Giuseppe Lucarelli, John Palmieri, Carmine Campanaro, and Ambrogio Laconte.

"Bill DePasquale, 76, 930 Jefferson St., died Jan. 2 in a Salt Lake hospital of natural causes. Born April 7, 1894, Bari, Italy, to Louis [Luigi] and Katherine [Caterina] Virgilio DePasquale. Married Mary [Maria] Albergo, Feb. 12, 1922, Bari, Italy. She died Sept. 1, 1970.
Owner, Monarch Shoe Shop. Veteran World War I. Member, Disabled American Veterans. Survivors: son, daughters, Louis F., Mrs. John (Katherine) Durrant, Mrs. Jeano (Dorothy) Campanaro all Salt Lake City; 7 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild. Requiem Mass Wednesday 10 a.m., Sacred Heart Church, 170 E. 9th South. Holy Rosary Tuesday 7:30 p.m., 372 E. 1st South, where friends call Tuesday 7-8 p.m., Wednesday prior to services. Burial Mt. Calvary Cemetery."
