Fair Play Advocate, no date: "Uncle Jord Anderson Dead. Uncle Jord Anderson died at his home in this city at 2:30 o'clock Tuesday morning, August 3, of Bright's Disease. The deceased had been a sufferer of this dreadful disease for a long time and has been confined to his bed for the past two months. He was conscious to the last and recognized those around him. Only two children were present at his death, Mrs. Robert Reeves and R.A. Anderson, the only ones living near.
"Uncle Jord, as he was familiarly known, was one of the pioneer citizens of this country, coming here in the year 1837. Five years before he was born in the state of Tennessee. In 1855 he was married to Miss Mary E. Watkins, and to this union were born 14 children as follows: Mary, Robert, John, Susan, William James, George, Phillip, Nancy, Charles, Drury, Sol and Frances, and two unnamed babies who died in infancy. Four girls and seven boys have preceded the father to the Great Beyond. --- Fair Play Advocate.
