Born ca. 1830, York, England. Removed (1848) to America with Henry & Grace Dickinson of Brooklyn, N.Y., settling (1852) in Richmond, Ind. Quaker. “He was for several years an Overseer in the meeting to which he was attached by membership, and until his removal to Indianapolis, which city was his home at the time of his decease. He was of a very cheerful, happy disposition, loving and kind to all, and with an unshaken trust in the merits of the divine atonement made by Jesus Christ for his salvation, he triumphantly and calmly passed over into the better and heavenly country to go no more out forever.” Died at Mineral Springs Sanitarium, Martinsville, Ind. (American Friend, 1899) Fire, Life and Accidental Insurance agent with residence at 406 N. Ninth St. (1886 Richmond, Ind., City Directory)
