6 (C) OTU's Lockheed Hudson V (#AM804) aircraft, with an aircrew of six, took off for a training flight; AM804 crashed into the sea about a mile way from Redcar, North Yorkshire, taking the lives of the entire crew.

He is commemorated by the Commonwealth War Graves Commission.
