According to her probate file she died at Abie on March 29, 1930 and was survived by the following heirs: her five children Joseph of Abie, Frank of Octavia, Alosia Homolka of Ulysses, Mary Hladky of Abie, Anna Geath, address unknown; and grandchildren (the children of her deceased children): Mary Svanda of Ulysses, Caroline Kutka of Brainard, Rose Pospisil of Ulysses, Frank Makovicka of Bellwood, Joseph Makovicka of Bellwood, Anna Styskal of Grant, Susie Makovica (age 18 years) of Rising City, and Emil Makovica (age 17 years) of Rising City.

Abie, April 1 - Mrs. Josephine Lajba, widow of John Lajba, died Saturday morning, March 29, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. John Hladky, at Abie, at the age of 95 years. Mrs. Lajba was born in Czecho-Slovakia and grew to womanhood there and was married to John Lajba. They came to America 55 years ago and settled in Pennsylvania where they lived for three years and then came to Nebraska. Mr. Lajba homesteaded land five miles northwest of Abie.
