Ronald C. Sting, Sr., passed away peacefully January 5, 2009 at his home in Owensville, Missouri while in hospice care. He was 78 years old, a devoted husband and father.
Ronald was born in Fremont, Ohio on December 3, 1930 to the late Fred and Eva (Fought) Sting. After proudly serving his country in the U.S. Army medical corps, he served locally in Civil Defense.
On September 5, 1959 he married Patricia Ann Cole in Fremont.
He earned a college degree and worked as a respiratory therapist at Kettering Medical Center in Dayton, Ohio before retiring.
He was a member of the Owensville Seventh-day Adventist Church, where he faithfully attended and served as a deacon.
Many mourn his passing, especially his little rat terrier, Holly.
He was preceded in death by two brothers; Fred Sting, Jr., a twin brother, Donald E. Sting; and three sisters, Bonnie Sole(e) , Eileen Clawson and Edna Mae Fetterman.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Patricia, who misses him more than words can say; a son, Ronald C. Sting II of Centerville, OH; daughter, Catherine Ann Haile and husband, David, of Belle, MO; and two sisters, Jean Wott and husband Richard, and Reva Wott all of Clyde, Ohio; as well as many nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held at Greenlawn Memory Gardens for family and friends at a date to be announced.
Arrangements are being coordinated by Gottenstroeter Funeral Home in Owensville, MO.
