William was born in Izard County, Arkansas to Daniel II and Belinda Langston Zirschky. He came to Texas County when his father moved the family in 1865.
William filed on 80 acres of land in Morris Township on April 4, 1876, and received patent May 15, 1883. William married Minerva Tate June 11, 1876.
William had a school built so his children could get an education and it was called the Zirschky School. Little is know of this school except that it burned and Logan School was the built to replace it.
William and Minerva spent their married life on the farm where they raised their nine children.
According to his youngest son Elmer, his dad was a small man, weighing only about 130 pounds, but he was strong and a very hard worker.
