Funeral for Coleene Parish Brown, 81, of Decatur will be Sunday, January 22, 2012, at 1:30 p.m. at Roselawn Funeral Home with Brother Tom Salter officiating.
Burial will be in Nixon's Chapel Cemetery following the service. Visitation will be held at the Funeral Home from 12:00 to 1:30 p.m. prior to the service.
Mrs. Brown, who died Friday, January 20, 2012, at Decatur General Hospital, was born October 4, 1930, in Marshall County to John Wesley(should be George Wesley Parrish) and Pinkie Beatrice Parrish. She retired as a mental health worker through the state of Alabama. She loved spending her days on the river with her pontoon boat, carrying her grandchildren fishing with her husband, baking, and collecting cookbooks. She was preceded in death by her parents; and son, John A. Brown Jr.
Survivors include her husband of 63 years, John A. Brown; son Donald Lee Brown; two daughters, Patricia Ann Copeland (Tommy), and Barbara Jean Green (Nicholas); brother Benny Parrish; two sisters, Judy Kilgore, and Nena Flo Killian; three grandchildren, Tyler Copeland (Allison), Ben Copeland, and Max Sutton; two great-grandchildren, Caiden Sutton, and Kyleigh Sutton.
Pallbearers are Tommy Copeland, Tyler Copeland, Ben Copeland, Max Sutton, Nicholas Green, and Eddie Portwood.
Memorial gifts may be given to the Alzheimer's Foundation.
