Obituary from the Palouse Republic, 2/6/1970, p. 3:
Mrs. Paul J. Risely
Mrs. Paul J. Risely died last Tuesday in a Spokane hospital at the age of 87. In failing health for the past year, she had remained alert and informed and semi-active within her home until the past few weeks.
Funeral services were held in Spokane Saturday, Jan. 31, with graveside services in Palouse at 3 o'clock.
Born in 1883 in Medina, Ohio, she came with her family, the Charles Knapps, to Palouse in 1904. Married to Paul J. Risely at Palouse, they celebrated their 58th wedding anniversary in June 1964. He preceded her in death just two days after that date.
As a young couple they worked their own wheat ranch in Montana a number of years, returning to Palouse in 1923. Their children attended and were graduated from Palouse schools. They resided here until moving to Spokane in 1944.
They were members of Loma Vista Baptist Church in Spokane. They will be remembered by their host of friends and acquaintances by their faithful and devoted work in the early Baptist church here. A real student of the Bible, she shared her kindness and inspiration by a life devoted to teaching Junior ages in Sunday School and also gave nearly as many years as pianist for church services.
Surviving are two sons, . . . ; two daughters,. . . ; 11 grandchildren and 9 great grand children.
