Vincent Charles Guzzi, age 83, of Trinity, Texas, died in Polk County, Texas. He served as a Merchant Marine and carried supplies to Asia and South America during World War II. He retired after more than 25 years of service with USI Chemical, now Quantum Chemical. He loved to spend time teaching and coaching youth baseball in La Porte, Texas where he lived until he retired.
He was preceded in death by his wife and mother of his children, Doral Lee Guzzi in 1997. He is survived by his devoted wife of nine years, Margie Ruth; children, Janey Guzzi, Jana Dundas (Mark), Charles Guzzi(Kelly); grandchildren, Jason Guzzi, Greg Dundas, Jeff Dundas, Katie Dundas, Conner Guzzi, Graham Guzzi and Vince Guzzi; sister, Alice Jane Pratt (John); niece, Camellia Clark,M.D.(Mark)and niece, Natalie; 4 step-children; and 7 step-grandchildren; brother-in-law, Bill Humphrey (Carlie).
Funeral service at Dorcas Wills Memorial Baptist Church in Trinity with interment following at Cedar Grove Cemetery.
He was a graduate of La Marque (TX) High School.
