L.R. ('RED') BANNING, 48, DIES HERE
Lemual Raymond ("Red") Banning, 48, of Novinger died Thursday evening at 8:20 in a Kirksville hospital where he had been a patient 15 months. He had been in failing health three years.
Funeral services will be held Sunday afternoon at two o'clock in the Jackson Dee Riley Funeral Home with the Rev. Archie Cooper of Kirksville officiating. Burial will be in Novinger cemetery.
The son of Major S. and Mary Etta (Robson) Banning, he was born Jan. 10, 1917, in Novinger. On June 8, 1948, in Kirksville he married Betty Ruth Rezek and to this marriage two sons were born.
Surviving are his father of Novinger; his wife; one son, Robert Leroy Banning of the home, and three brothers, Frank Banning of Joliet, Ill.; Virgil Banning of Quincy, Ill.; and James Banning of Andalusia, Ill.
He was preceded in death by one son in infancy and his mother.
Mr. Banning had lived his entire life in Novinger. He was employed at the International Shoe Company from 1943 until 1962.
Bearers will be: Charles Gasperi, Bob Baiotto, R.K. Elsea and Clem Rock.
