services for Miss Helen Ruth Qualls, 90, of Livingston will be conducted at 2 p.m., Wednesday, May 22, in the Chapel of Speck Funeral Home, Livingston, TN with burial in the Good Hope Cemetery, Livingston, TN.
Miss Qualls died May 21, 2002 at Livingston Regional Hospital. She was born on August 13, 1911 in Overton County to the late Elvin A. & Cora Poteet Qualls. She was a retired school teacher and librarian.
She was a member of First Christian Church, Livingston Civic & Garden Club, Historical Society, Overton County Retired Teachers Association, and was Overton County Historian for many years. She started teaching in one room schools 1st through 8th grade in Overton County. Served as school librarian in Georgia, in New Mexico, and librarian for the U.S. Army in Tyler, TX. She was librarian in Livingston, Algood, Monterey, and the State Reform School in Nashville. She also worked with the Bookmobile.
She is survived by sisters, Lois Warren and Clarice Qualls, nephew, Bill Warren, and great-nephews, Pat and Jay Warren, all of Livingston, TN.
