Paul H. Adams, a former Morehead State University head football coach and a former professional football player with the Pittsburgh Steelers, died of a stroke Sunday at Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital in Russell. He was 75 and lived in Worthington.

Mr. Adams was Morehead's coach for three seasons from 1956 to 1958. In 1950, he was an assistant football coach at Morehead. A Morehead graduate, he also played center on the school's football team for four years and was selected for the Little All-America team in 1940.

In 1985 he was inducted into the Morehead State University Athletic Hall of Fame.

He played with the Steelers from 1947 to 1949.

He was born in Coal Grove, Ohio. His college work was interrupted by a four- year hitch in the Marine Corps during World War II. He was wounded twice in the war and received two Purple Hearts. He received a bachelor's degree in education and history from Morehead, where he also played basketball and baseball and was a member of the swim team, in 1947.

He coached at Raceland and Ludlow high schools before becoming Morehead's head football coach. He coached football at Rock Hill High School in Rock Hill, Ohio, and Lakeland High School in Lakeland, Fla. He also coached high school baseball and basketball.

Mr. Adams retired as a federal grant coordinator and assistant to the superintendent of Boyd County schools. He also had been principal of Boyd County High School and Eidson Elementary School in Boyd County.

Surviving are his wife, Betty Creech Adams; a son, Steven Paul Adams of Worthington; a daughter, Jade Maddox of Bellefonte; two sisters; and five grandchildren.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Bellefonte Memorial Gardens in Flatwoods. Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. today at Carman Funeral Home in Flatwoods.
