Woody was born the son of Beth and Howard Lawson, Jr. He was an Eagle Scout, order of the Arrow and Explorer. Graduated from San Jacinto High School in 1958; attended U of H; Amarillo College and Sam Houston State. Joined U.S. Marine Reserve in 1957 1st Battalion Platoon 173. He worked most of his life for Herring Claim adjusters. He was an Adjuster Estimator and Forensic Auto Accident Re-Constructor. He was also a member of Lakewood Church. Proceeded to heaven by his stepfather, William Woodrow, Sr. Survived by his parents, Beth Herring and Howard and Dorris Lawson; wife and best friend Janice for 20 years; son, Kirk; daughter, Lisa; sisters, Judy, Lovena and Faythe; brothers, Jim, Trent and Michael; grandchildren, Keaton and Caitlyn. He ran his race with courage to the end. He was a good man and a good friend. He will be missed terribly. Don't cry for me because I am not the same you see. Don't cry for me since God set me free. I am Home at last where I long to be.
