Alfred "Al" E. Fagundes Jr., 56, of Leeton, died Sept. 28, 2006, at Research Medical Center in Kansas City. He was born Nov. 1, 1949, in Livermore, CA, a son of Alfred E. Sr. and Edna M. Elder Fagundes.
On June 25, 1982, in Sedalia, he was married to Diana Oates, who survives of the home.
Mr. Fagundes was a 1967 graduate of Livermore High School.
He joined the Marine Corps and was a veteran of the Vietnam War. He served from October 1967 to October 1973. He was discharged as a corporal.
For the last 18 years, he was head custodian at Warrensburg Vocational Technical School.
Also surviving are a son, David Fagundes, of Warrensburg; a daughter, Regina Casto, and her husband, Jeff, of Topeka, KS; three brothers, John Fagundes, Bill Fagundes and Steve Fagundes, all of California; and five grandchildren, Kaylan Fagundes, Dylan Casto, Hannah Casto, Trevon Gaeta and Kelvin Gaeta.
Funeral services will be Tuesday at Williams Funeral Chapel in Warrensburg, with Wes Pulis officiating. Pallbearers will be Rick Larrison, Jay Shirley, Bobby Stark, Bob Terry, Junior Fiedler and Jim Pyle. Burial will be in the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Warrensburg, with military rites by William A. Carleton Veterans of Foreign Wars Memorial Post 2513 and Matthews-Crawford Post 131 of the American Legion.
