Coral Darlene Mick Boyce 1937 ~ 2008 Darlene was born in Arkansas City, Kansas on Sept 3, 1937 and died in Salt Lake on Oct 8, 2008 at the age of 71.

Her father, Albert Herman Mick, and mother, Cora Ellen Lacey Mick were both from Oklahoma. The family moved to Bountiful, Utah when Darlene's father was hired by Utah Oil. Darlene graduated from Bountiful High in 1955 and that same year was runner up to Miss Bountiful. After high school Darlene worked at Bob Rice's Health Club in Sugarhouse. She was the first woman trainer to be hired at that location. In 1957 Ron Boyce was working out at that gym and Darlene has stated "It was love at first sight". They were married on Oct. 11th, 1957. Both Darlene and Ron loved dogs and Samoyeds in particular. They were active in dog shows and the local Samoyed and Kennel Clubs. Darlene traveled to many dog shows with her friends, and she wrote a monthly article for Dog World, a national magazine.

The Law School at the University of Utah, it's faculty and students, have been enriched by Darlene's extraordinary generosity. She has funded the Ronald N. Boyce Presidential Endowed Chair in Criminal Law, and the Ronald and Darlene Boyce Scholarship Fund and donated Ron's exceptional library of law and other books to the U as well.

Darlene was a devoted wife, a faithful daughter and a great mom to many Samoyeds. Darlene's sense of humor was lost on some and adored by others. She could make the worst ordeal into a comedy act and freely laughed and poked fun at herself about small events in her life. She always looked for and brought out the best in people. We will all miss Darlene's cheery personality and great compassion.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to: The Ronald and Darlene Boyce Scholarship Fund, S.J. Quinney College of Law, 332 S. 1400 E., #101, Salt Lake City, UT 84112 or the Humane Society of Utah, 4242 S. 300 W., Murray, UT 84107.
