Doak W. Beeler 3/31/49 ~ 9/16/04 If we look at the path, we do not see the sky. We are earth people on a spiritual journey to the stars. Our quest, our earth walk, is to look within, to know who we are, to see that we are connected to all things, that there is no separation, only in the mind. We would like to celebrate the life of a kind and gentle soul. Doak was born March 31, 1949 in Oakland, California. He was a Vietnam veteran and worked at Friends of Multiple Sclerosis until his illness. We would like to thank the staff on 2 East, Veterans Hospital for their outstanding care and attention. Special thanks to Dr. Derek Haslem and nurse manager Sue Childress. They made Doak's final days a peaceful and comfortable transition for his earthly departure. Doak was a member of Alcoholics Anonymous and would have celebrated his I-year birthday on September 19th. Through Doak's involvement with AA he touched many people's lives, many of which spent hours and days at his bedside. His dear friends Mary R. and John B. never left his side. Angels do walk this earth. There will be a memorial service at the Veterans Hospital Chapel on September 22nd at 10:00 a.m. Donations can be made to the Veterans Administration Hospital, Hospice Care.
