OBITUARY OF REVEREND WILLIAM "BILL" BRISKEY
William "Bill" Briskey was born January 25, 1917 in Ney, Ohio to Joseph and Amanda (Swartz) Briskey. He departed this life on March 29, 2002, at the age of 85 years, 2 months and 4 days.
Mr. Briskey had lived in Pryor for about the last 22 years. He was a retired minister. He was ordained in Pryor at the Zion Mennonite Church, and went on to Pastor at Zion for 5 years. He attended Rosedale Bible Institute for 3 years, in Ohio. He pastored a church in Meridian, Mississippi for 5 years. He retired here in Pryor in 1986. He was married to his first wife, Margaret McConnell, the mother of his children, in 1943. She preceded him in death in 1962. He then married Emma Good on 1-11-64. She also preceded him in death in 1997. Bill loved traveling and visiting family and friends. As a past time, he enjoyed fixing lawn mowers and hydraulic jacks. He was a loving father and grandfather. He truly enjoyed family gatherings and will be missed by all who knew him. Bill's favorite saying was "Praise the Lord", which reflected his love of his church and his Lord.
Bill is survived by son and daughter-in-law William and Ann Briskey of Altoona, Pa., 2 daughters and sons-in-law Nancy and Gene Miller of Pryor, OK., and Darlene and Loren Neuenschwander of Pryor, OK., 7 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren, brothers Elmer Briskey of Fortville, Ind., Raymond Briskey of Rockville, Ind., and sister Esther Gochenour of Rossville, Ind. In addition to his wives, he was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Amanda (Swartz) Briskey, 2 sisters, Lydia and Barbara, and 2 brothers, Wilmer and Dan.
