Craig L. Lovelady 21, of 811 48th Street, Vienna, died Wednesday evening in Kansas City, Missouri.
Mr. Lovelady was born in Aiken, S.C. a son of Hugh H Sr, and Dorothy Dawson Lovelady of Vienna. He attended Wood County schools and was graduated from Parkersburg High School with the Class of 1973.
He attended West Virginia University as a music major and was a professional musician, who was with the show band "ATLANTIS" at the time of his death. He was a member of Local 259, the American Federation of Musicians.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by a brother, Hugh H. Lovelady Jr, of Las Vegas, Nevada; a sister, Mrs Deborah Phillips, of Parkersburg; and his maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles E. Dawson, of New Smyrna Beach, Fla.
Friends may call at the Vaughan Funeral Home from 4 to 10 p.m. today and from 10 a.m. until noon Saturday when the body will be taken to the Gould Funeral Home, 214 North 6th Ave, Hopewell, Virginia. Services wil be held Monday in Hopewell with burial in the family lot in the Appomattox Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family has suggested that friends may wish to make contributions to the West Virginia Music, Dr Donald Portnoy, Morgantown, W. Va; or to the Tom Taylor-Sara Scott Memorial Fund for musical scholarships at Mountain State Bank, Parkersburg.
