William F. Allmandinger, 84, died peacefully in the early hours of
January 12, 2015, at Swiss Village in Berne, Indiana.
He was born July 25, 1930, to Rudolf and Lula (Scare)
Allmandinger of Schumm, Ohio. He married Coleen Wagner on
December 24, 1951. He was a Korean War veteran with the
U.S. Army and lifelong farmer in rural Berne. He was an active
member of Cross United Church of Christ in Berne, having served
on the church consistory and as a Sunday School teacher; he also
was an active member of the Berne Lions Club.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Coleen (Wagner); a sister
Emma (Allmandinger) Salway of Ohio City, OH; three sons, Lee
Allmandinger of rural Berne, Kent Allmandinger of West Lafayette,
and Jon Allmandinger of Fort Wayne; two daughters-in-law; seven
grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in
death by his parents and brother-in-law, Harold Salway.
Private graveside service only at MRE Cemetery. Memorials may
be made to either Family Life Care Hospice Services of Berne or
Crossroad Children’s Home in Fort Wayne.
