Mrs. Elizabeth O'Hara Buntin, 87, one of the most highly respected and best loved women of the Homer City area, passed away at the home Monday, November 30, at 11 a.m. after a five week illness.
Mrs. Buntin was born in Scotland October 29, 1866, daughter of Alexander and Jean Ruddock O'Hara.
Surviving her are these children: Jean, at home; Mrs. Sarah Keagle, at home; Alex of Atlanta, Ga.; Elizabeth, wife of L.A. Will, Homer City; and Wilhelmina, wife of Dr. Walter Burgin of New Cumberland; also one brother, Andrew, Ernest; two sisters, Mrs. Jean Baird of Youngstown, O., and Mrs. N. H. Hunter of Ernest; 10 grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Buntin was preceded in death by her husband, George H. Buntin in 1948. In 1947, the Buntins celebrated their sixtieth wedding anniversary. They had resided in Ernest for 40 years, where Mrs. Buntin had been a very active leader in church and civic affairs.
Mrs. Buntin had lived in Homer City for 13 years, and until her health prohibited, had been active in the affairs of the Homer City Presbyterian Church, of which she was a member. She had legions of friends in the county.
Friends are being received at her late home, 31 North Main Street, Homer City, where services will be conducted Thursday, December 3, at 2 p.m. by the Rev. E. L. Thorburg. Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Indiana.
