Mr. and Mrs. John Neiman Married in 1916 Neimans note 60th wedding anniversary:
"The big green house" in Ventura, Calif., was recently the setting for a surprise dinner honoring Mr. and Mrs. John Neiman, former Springfield residents, on their 60th wedding anniversary.
The couple was married in Sioux Falls, S.D., in 1916 and lived in Springfield from 1935 to October of 1975. At this time they moved to Ventura, where they now make their home.
Mrs. Neiman is the former Dosha Breshears of Buffalo, Mo., and Mr. Neiman is from Windsor, Mo. They have three children, 10 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Guests attended from nearby cities in California, from Washington and Minnesota.

NEIMAN- John William Neiman, 87-year-old former resident of Springfield, died at Ventura, California, October 14, 1977. John W. Neiman was born on January 26, 1890 at Windsor, Missouri. He was united in marriage to Dosha Breshears on February 28, 1916 at Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Mr. Neiman was a contractor-builder and built the first motel at Springfield, and later was employed as a security guard at Rosboro lumbar company and also worked at Springfield plywood. He had been a resident of the Springfield area since 1935 and the past several years has made his home in Ventura, California. He is survived by his wife, Dosha of Ventura; one son, Harold G. Neiman of Eugene; Two daughters; Delores E. Doggett of Springfield and Florence Carisio of Ventura; one sister, Nellie Bader of Longmont, Colorado; 10 grandchildren; 7 great- grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, October 20th at 10 A.M. at the Burns-Fredericksen funeral home with private entombment at Rest Haven Mausoleum. Those who wish may visit the funeral home for viewing on Tuesday, from 9 A.M. to 9 P.M. as the casket will be closed for the service.
