Cary Cotton Fulmer, born May 18, 1868 in Coosa Co, AL, the 12th of 13 children of John William Fulmer and Rachel E. Cotton Fulmer. Named for his motherís father, Cary or CC (as I have seen him called) apparently had some kind of falling out with the family and went to work and live in Atlanta. He seems to have been in poor health much of his life. He speaks of his poor health to his brother in the letter I have as if this is a long-standing fact. He died without ever marrying and is buried at Mt Pleasant.

The only information I have about CC comes from a letter written to Nathan Crawford (his brother three years younger) a few months before his death (written in April, he died in September). He died September 26, 1890 at age 22.

Mr. N. C. Fulmer
Mt. Olive, Ala.

Dear Bro.

I presume you will be somewhat surprised to hear from me after such a delay but feeling an interest in you hope you will indulge me in a few words

My health was never better though I have had a tough time for the past three months. I am connected with the above firm which is the largest and most complete dry goods house in the city. I have just returned from the park and am a little tired you know. I am not a man that kills time with the women in a town like this

If a man goes in society it costs him something nearly every time he turns around so I have but little to do with the girls.(economy is the basis of all wealth)

What are you doing for yourself? I heard from Jeff a few days ago. All OK. I don't know of anything that would interest you.

If Pa has received my letter why don't he answer it. Where is Jake and Leora?

With Best Wishes
Your Bro
C.C. Fulmer
