John Robin (Jack) Anderson, 88, passed away March 10, 2008 at the Avalon Care Center in Bountiful, Utah of Causes Incident to Age.

He was born June 3, 1919 in Ogden, Utah to Roscoe Joseph Anderson and Diantha Jane Robbins. He attended schools in Ogden School District and graduated from Ogden High, where he was Junior Class Vice President. John attended Weber College and then applied to and was accepted at the United States Merchant Marine Academy. While there he received both a Bachelor of Science Degree and a military commission. During World War II he served his country as third mate on ships carrying ammunition to troops in the Pacific. Upon returning from overseas John met and married Sylvia Petersen. Together they had one daughter, Robin. Sylvia passed away in February 1999. John was a born salesman and in one way or another, spent the balance of his working years pursuing that career. He enjoyed meeting people and loved the challenges and opportunities selling offered. He worked for several companies including Wasatch Chemical Company. At Wasatch he rose to sales manager, and finally to President and C.E.O. After retiring from the corporate world, he enjoyed a successful second career as a real estate salesman and broker. He lived in the East Millcreek area of Salt Lake City for over 40 years where he was an active High Priest in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He was also involved in community affairs as a member of the Salt Lake Junior Chamber of Commerce, Chamber of Commerce and The Sentinel Club.

John was preceded in death by his wife, Sylvia; brother, Dale Anderson; and four sisters, Donna Taylor, June Favero, AnnaMae Nay, Betty Jean Rhees. He is survived by two sisters, Sharon (Don) Belnap and Shirley (Ralph) Swenson; his daughter, Robin (John) Campbell; four grandchildren, Kristin (Kent) Snelling, Chad (Linda) Campbell, Craig (Heidi) Campbell, Katie (Aaron) Biesinger; and six great-grand-children, Campbell and Max Snelling, Addie and Aleesa Campbell, Isabelle and Gabriella Biesinger.

Funeral Services will be held Sat., March 15, 2008 at 11 a.m. at the Farmington Beehive Chapel, 1395 S. 200 E., Farmington, Utah. Friends may call one hour prior.
Interment will be at Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park, 3401 S. Highland Drive, Holladay, UT.
