MRS. ALEXANDER'S FUNERAL TO BE AT
3 O'CLOCK TODAY ---------------------------- Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Ellen Alexander, 63, who died Friday afternoon at her home, 1508 Harrill Street, will be conducted at the Ninth Avenue Baptist Church this afternoon at 3 o'clock. The pastor, Rev. L. R. Pruett, will have charge. Interment will be in Elmwood.
Mrs. Alexander was the wife of C. F. Alexander, who has been dead about 30 years. She had been suffering with heart trouble and was attacked with influenza about a month ago. She was born in Anderson, S. C., the daughter of Levi and Sarah Anne Fincher, and moved to Charlotte when she was one year old. This city has been her home ever since. He husband was a brother of Capt. Julius Alexander, a well-known Charlotte man who died several years ago.
Surviving are four daughters, Mrs. G. J. Griffith, Mrs. Guy Clarke, Mrs. Z. W. Goodwin, of Charlotte, and Mrs. Charles D. Hall, of Richmond, Va, a son, T. M. Alexander, of Nashville, Tenn., and 13 grandchildren.
The pallbearers will be the deacons of the Ninth Avenue Baptist Church, of which Mrs. Alexander was a consistent member. She was constant in her attention to her religious duties and never failed to attend services unless sickness or serious reverses prevented.
Pallbearers will be J. H. Bostic, W. I. Boyd, W. J. Fite, M J. Green, E. W. Fink, F. F. Phillips.
