Rev. Dr. Henry Baker Dead
Well Known Retired Clergyman Succumbs to Kidney Trouble
Funeral services for the Rev. Dr. Henry Baker, a well known retired clergyman and lecturer of this city have not yet been arranged, but probably will be held at the residence, 1300 Q Street Northwest. The Rev. John Reid Shannon of the Metropolitan Methodist Episcopal Church will officiate. Interment probably will be in Oak Hill cemetery.
Dr. Baker died Monday at Chautauqua, New York. Death was due to kidney trouble. He was 83 years old. Mrs. Baker who was with her husband when he died reached Washington with the body at 8 o'clock yesterday morning and took it to the family residence.
Dr. Baker held a number of important Methodist Episcopal pastorates in different States. He was at one time a member of a New England Methodist Conference and some years ago joined the Baltimore Conference. The greater portion of his pastoral work was done in Boston. At the time of his death he was a member of the quarterly conference of the Methodist Church. Two sons, Charles and Carl Baker of Los Angeles, California have been notified of their father's death.
